Yanni Danger, is a songwriter, composer, audio engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. A native of the Orlando area, Giovanni Rengifo is raw and sincere, and his style has evolved. No two albums are alike, but each is linked together by thoughtful lyrics, dynamic composition, and an unaffected style.
Yanni Danger’s first album, Clap For Robot Warfare, was produced at the age of fourteen. The mechanical drums, loud 303s, and dirty synths are reminiscent of the early sounds of Fischerspooner. While playing in high school bands he was also working on his second release, Beta Manuscript, in 2002. With a substantially different tone, a quieter, more genuine message permeates the project and is the first album featuring himself as a vocalist. For Open Eyes followed in 2004 and showcases dark, layered vocal melodies coupled with harsh, guttural screams. After graduating high school, Danger worked on his own album, Fading In The Neighborhood, and a joint album with his close, late friend called The Geometric Landscape. Fading was completed in 2007 featuring obscure lyrics detailing a concept album about a horrifying death among young friends.
Yanni Danger’s newest single “The Tree” is mesmerizing. Featuring chiming electric piano and lyrics with cryptic, layered meanings. Reminiscent of Pink Floyd and Band of Horses. ~N.H., EAL
